I got up this morning because I was curious to know what the political candidates would do to commemorate 9/11, hopefully see that we finally nabbed Osama, and to track Hurricane Ike. Instead of the current hurricane and investigating what we are doing to find Osama bin Laden the front page of Yahoo news has as its top story, Judge mean to 4 year Old. Sorry, but how exactly does a talent judge on a show hosted by Jerry Springer merit the lead in your news source? It doesn’t. This is a worthless, and rather low rated and even lower brow, third rate talent show on America’s fourth ranked broadcast network.
To be fair they did have a link to a story about the latest Upton Sinclair/Teapot dome type scandal raking through the Department of the Interior, and they had a link to Hurricane Ike’s progression, a link about how this was the deadliest year so far in Afghanistan, but these stories were sandwiched between bunk about a tiny frog rediscovered in Australia, the new -skank whore, white trash, and ghetto girl- trend of infants and toddlers wearing high heel shoes and the St. Louis Rams being one of the league’s worst teams.
Really now, a girl being marked down on a show hosted by Jerry Springer is more important to the fears about Wal-Street, our troops in Afghanistan, and the Oil-esque scandal in the Department of the Interior? How low can the media go? I am so tired of the mixture of entertainment and news. I do not watch the news to see what my favorite celebrities are up to (actually I don’t have any favorite celebrities because I really don’t see films based on who stars in them), no I watch the news to get information.
I get nautious when I watch the news anchors talking about human interest stories, weird science, and providing commentary. Just present the facts, and let the people decide.
